Your World Psychology is a Talking Therapy and Consultation service delivered by a Clinical Psychologist and Systemic Practitioner that specialises in Anxiety, Stress and Depression.
Many of us experience stress and worry at different times in our lives. Sometimes we can feel so low and exhausted that we don't know how to make things better. This can be because of pressure at work, the loss of someone important to us, unexpected life events, relationship worries, health problems or any number of life's difficulties piling on top of us. As an experienced therapist I know that getting the right support at these times can help people overcome these difficulties and find the strength and resolve to move forward. It can be a relief having a space to tell your story, think over important experiences and feelings and learn new and positive ways to make the decisions that are right for you.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a recommended treatment option for anxiety and depression (see National Institute of Clinical Excellence). I also use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and will tailor therapy to support you to implement practical solutions when you are experiencing difficult thoughts and feelings.
Systemic Therapy encompasses a number of approaches that acknowledges that our experiences are influenced by our relationships and interactions with others. Individuals, couples or families can all benefit from thinking about how our 'systems', relationships and how we see ourselves within them, impact on our feelings, thoughts and behaviours.
Alongside these approaches I use other techniques and methods that are proven to compliment and strengthen therapy. These include COMPASSION FOCUSSED THERAPY, MINDFULNESS, and RELAXATION, as well as one off consultations with families, schools, universities or work.
